Realtor gets 2 listings in 2 hours using an unconventional listing strategy.

We interviewed Sharon this week, who just recently signed up with Smart Agents.

Not only did she get two listings in two hours, each of the owners walked up to her and asked to list with her.

In the interview we talk about:

  • How she sat down somewhere and 2 owners came and listed with her.
  • Why it helped with getting referrals as well.
  • What other clients she has gotten with this technique.

All right, how long have you been a realtor?


I'm going on 11 years.
Smart Agents:


And how long have you been a member with Smart Agents?


I joined in October, late October.
Smart Agents:


And what motivated you to join with us? What'd you see?


It had something completely different. It's all about being different of course, when we have to get above the rest of those other agents out there.
So, I looked into the first Webinar, and then I actually listened to a couple more with Chris Curry explaining how the program works, and then I received the free books that you guys offered. I kind of took them with me, and experimented with them, threw them on the office table and was checking them out. The funny thing is, I see you guys marketing on Facebook a lot, but I've never seen the product actually in hand. So, people like ... they're shocked like "Oh my god, she's got a book, she's got a book! So awesome!".

So, I ordered some more books a few weeks ago   and I got them, and over the weekend we met up with some clients and then for an experiment, we sat a table where I knew absolutely nobody. I threw two books on the table and people started picking them up and looking at them, I got two listings on Sunday for people I never even knew because of the books.

Where'd you put the books? Where were you again, when you put them on the table?

I was at an event on Sunday afternoon, so there was just all these people walking around, they were sitting at our table and just having casual conversation and there was live music so I just threw a couple of my books on the table.


People were picking them up and checking them out and, when they started looking ... "Oh my god, look at this book!" And then they start ... it was like fire, "Oh my god, this realtor she has a book!"    
And before I knew it even my business partner, she was like, "Oh my gosh, I've got to get some of these books." And I said "Jennifer, it's the book, this kicks butt, this is it, this is the one!" So we got two listings, one listing is about 550 the other ones probably gonna be pitching in the eights.

Wow, and you only had the books for a couple weeks, right?


Yeah, I actually just got those books on Friday, just got them on Friday. So, it was an awesome ...
Smart Agents:


Have you got any other listings using them?


I have other listings, but not from the book. But just the way that people respond to you with the book and ... It just puts you at the top, you're a professional in what you do, it's not a business card.


I'm telling people "take the book! Give it to your friends and your family!" Like, oh my god I got a book! And my closest friend she's a realtor's like, "Dang it, you nailed it! And that book rocks." I'm like, "I know isn't this sweet?"

Well, that's awesome. What other plans do you have in different ways to get the books out?


I'm going to start pulling some expires and start doing some door-knocking, hopefully next week with it, I'm working on that stuff today, and then I'm hooking up with a couple of other attorneys that do probate and a couple listings from that as well with the book.

Well, that's awesome. Do you have anything else that you want to add?


I think it's truly a great product, I'm really excited, I think that it'll probably make me a lot of money this year, using it. It has something of value to it, it has something to hold on to, you're not likely to go throw your book in the trash, they're always gonna keep it somewhere in the house, and people have people come over and they're like "Oh my god, you have a realtor that has a book?" And that speaks louder than a business card.

One of the best methods we use at Smart Agents to separate yourself is books. Books have a huge perceived value. They don’t get thrown away.

They can get tucked away somewhere, but most people aren’t going to toss them in the trash. They’re worth something, and they’re worth something to the author’s name.

Do this and you will position yourself as the authority in your market. When you give away your book, it will separate you from your competition. That’s how a smart agent thinks!
